Ahead of the 2027 general elections, the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Mr. Peter Obi, has warned election manipulators that they will face serious consequences if they attempt to disrupt the electoral process.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Monday, Obi assured that anyone caught engaging in electoral malpractice would be made to pay for undermining Nigeria’s progress.
“Unlike in the past, in 2027 our votes must count, and all those who are there not to count the votes will be counted among those destroying Nigeria,” he stated.
Obi urged Nigerians to remain at their polling units after casting their ballots to observe the counting and transmission of results.
He stressed that those who refuse to allow votes to count will face the full weight of the law against rigging.
“If you do not count our votes, we will count you among those who destroy our democracy, thereby destroying our future, and you must answer to the law,” he reiterated.
