Nigerian automobile manufacturer, Innoson Vehicles has congratulated the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi on his eight-year reign on the throne.
According to a statement issued by Innoson’s Head of Corporate Communications, Cornel Osigwe on Thursday, the company gifted vehicles and motorcycles to the monarch to mark the celebration.
“Innoson Vehicles, under the leadership of Chairman Chief Dr. Innocent Chukwuma, has made a remarkable contribution to mark the 8-year reign of the esteemed Ooni of Ife, Arole Oodua Ooni Adeyeye Babatunde Enitan Ogunwusi.
“The charitable donation consists of two vehicles, the IVM Smart and Innoson Shuttle, as well as three Innoson motorcycles. As a prominent sponsor of the Staff Appreciation Day/Award Night, Innoson Vehicles has graciously contributed to enable the Ooni of Ife to reward the most outstanding personnel with a brand-new Innoson Car, while other deserving staff members will be presented with branded Innoson motorcycles as a token of appreciation,” Innoson stated.
While expressing gratitude to Innoson Vehicles during the donation ceremony, the Ooni of Ife stressed the need for government’s support in promoting domestic vehicle manufacturers.
Oba Enitan urged the authorities to prioritize the purchase of 70% of vehicles from Innoson, thereby bolstering the Nigerian economy and strengthening the naira against foreign currencies.
He also highlighted the importance of endorsing locally-made products on economic development.
Present at the event was the Head of Corporate Communications at Innoson Vehicles, Cornel Osigwe, who represented the Chairman, Chief Dr. Innocent Chukwuma.
Osigwe in his remarks thanked the Ooni of Ife for his relentless advocacy of Innoson Vehicles through his foundation, The Hopes Alive Initiative (HAI).
He encouraged the Ooni to continue in the path, adding that his endorsements have a lasting impact on the patronage of Innoson Vehicles.
Similarly, the Deputy Convener of the Hopes Alive Initiative for Africa and wife of the Ooni, Olori Dr. Temitope Enitan-Ogunwusi, also expressed gratitude to the Chairman, Chief Dr. Innocent Chukwuma for his remarkable contributions to the growth of Nigeria and Africa.
She assured him that the foundation would not relent in making efforts to promote the patronage of Innoson Vehicles.
Oba Enitan is the 51st Ooni of Ife – and succeeded the deceased Oba Okunade Sijuwade in 2015.
