Gov. Abiodun Supplies Fertiliser to 7,000 Farmers

The Governor of Ogun State, Mr. Dapo Abiodun, on Monday gave out fertilisers to 7,000 farmers in the state.

Mr. Abiodun disclosed that the initiative, which is part of his administration’s commitment to addressing food scarcity in the state is the first phase of fertiliser distribution to 12,000 farmers earmarked for the program.

“This effort is more than just providing fertiliser; it reflects our collective determination to support the agriculture sector and ensure that farmers have the resources needed to boost crop yields and secure food supplies.

“Recognising the challenges posed by growing food scarcity, we are committed to aggressively tackling food inflation. We have implemented various reforms, such as allocating agricultural lands and providing materials and support to thousands of farmers through different programs, all aimed at strengthening our agricultural sector and empowering farmers across the state.

“The collaboration between the state and federal governments in these initiatives is crucial, and we are optimistic that it will create new opportunities and transform agriculture into a viable business venture,” he said.

The Governor vowed that his administration will continue to prioritise the agricultural sector, as it remains the backbone of the Nigeria’s economy, providing sustenance and job opportunities for millions of Ogun residents and Nigerians alike.

He further stated: “We encourage our farmers to make the most of these resources and remain dedicated to the success of these initiatives. Together, we can ensure food security and build a stronger agricultural foundation for our state and nation.”
