The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has commenced the final stage of its 2025 recruitment exercise for shortlisted candidates.
The two-week exercise, which commenced on Monday, September 7, 2026, will run through September 19, 2026, with candidates undergoing rigorous documentation, physical fitness assessments, and medical screenings at the Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC), Gwagwalada, Abuja.
The exercise covers shortlisted applicants across the Assistant Superintendent of Customs II (ASCII), Inspectorate, and Customs Assistant cadres.
Candidates are being screened in batches, categorised alphabetically by their states of origin, to prevent congestion and maintain order.
Addressing the candidates, the Assistant Comptroller-General of Customs in charge of Human Resource Development, Frank Onyeka, emphasised that the Service is evaluating character and professional conduct alongside physical fitness.
“On behalf of the Comptroller-General of Customs, I congratulate you on reaching this stage,” ACG Onyeka said.
“I urge you to remain orderly and strictly adhere to the guidelines. Beyond physical requirements, your attitude, discipline, and conduct are critical factors in deciding who ultimately joins the Service.”
He also stated that the NCS is working closely with the Customs Police and other relevant units within the Service to safeguard the integrity of the process.
Also speaking on the operations at the centre, the Commandant of the Nigeria Customs Command and Staff College (NCCSC), Gwagwalada, Assistant Comptroller-General of Customs Dow Gaura, noted that administrative innovations and inter-agency collaboration have streamlined the exercise.
“Everything happening here reflects the policy vision of the Comptroller-General of Customs, which emphasised continuous operational improvement, collaboration, and innovation,” ACG Gaura stated.
He added that the process had been seamless and hitch-free, with no casualties recorded.
The screening for the Assistant Superintendent of Customs cadre concludes on Thursday, September 10, while evaluations for the Inspectorate and Customs Assistant cadres will continue until September 19, 2026.
