The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has assured the Muslim faithful of adequate security measures to ensure a peaceful and secured environment during the 2024 Eid-el-Maulud celebrations.
IGP Egbetokun, in a statement issued by the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi on Sunday, tasked the Commissioners of Police (CPs) and their respective Zonal Assistants Inspector General of Police (AIGs) with robust deployment of personnel and resources to high-risk areas, including major highways, places of worship, and public gathering points.
“The Nigeria Police Force hereby reiterates its commitment to safeguarding the public and preventing crime during and after this festive period,” Mr. Adejobi stated.
The IGP felicitated with the Muslim faithful, and prayed for a joyous and harmonious celebration.
He stressed the NPF’s collaboration with other security agencies, community leaders, and stakeholders to ensure a secure and incident-free celebration across the length and breadth of the country.
