The Federal Government (FG) through the Federal Ministry of Innovation, Science and Technology on Thursday launched a free Artificial Intelligence (AI) Academy for the Nigerian youths.
The initiative, in partnership with the Commonwealth Secretariat and Intel Corporation, is part of efforts to equip the youths with cutting-edge technology skills.
According to the Ministry, the AI Academy will provide beneficiaries with free access to self-paced courses on AI fundamentals, ethics, tools, and real-world applications.
The participants will also have the opportunity to compete for AI ambassadorial roles and internships with Intel Corporation, gaining hands-on global experience in AI
“The programme aims to prepare Nigerian Youths for future jobs and leadership roles in the digital economy, empowering them with AI skills, enhancing their competitiveness in the global job market, and also driving innovation in the country.
“This initiative underscores the government’s commitment to leveraging technology to drive economic growth, improve lives, and create opportunities for Nigerian Youths,” the Ministry said.
Interested applicants are advised to register for the AI Academy on www.scienceandtech.gov.ng/academy and the application portal will close on January 30, 2025.
