Following his re-election as Governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke has assured the people of Osun State that he will not disappoint them.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday, Adeleke expressed gratitude to God and the good people of Osun State for the confidence reposed in him to serve for another term.
“This victory belongs to the people. I commend your resilience, your courage, and your unwavering commitment to democracy. I will not disappoint you,” he said.
He appealed to all people of Osun State to embrace peace, forgiveness and unity, noting that there was no victor and no vanquished.
“I extend the olive branch to all my co-contestants. I am the Governor of all.”
The governor also condoled with the victims of what he described as needless pre-election violence.
“May their souls rest in peace,” he prayed, urging traditional rulers, community leaders, and all stakeholders to lead the healing and reconciliation process across communities in the state.
Adeleke pledged to strengthen his administration’s achievements, address its shortcomings, and build on the progress made.
He noted that Osun was on the march again, assuring that his government would accelerate development, widen the reach of good governance, and continue the journey of transforming Osun from a civil service state into an industrial state and a preferred investment destination.
The governor thanked President Bola Tinubu for his support for a free and fair election.
He further appreciated all lovers of democracy, at home and abroad, especially the media, for standing firmly with democracy.
