The national grid has suffered another setback, leaving many Nigerians in darkness, amidst economic challenges.
Thelensng reports that the grid had previously collapsed 11 times in 2024, including twice within three days in November.
“Major grid setback has occurred! Restoration to commence,” Nigeria’s National Grid posted on X (formerly Twitter) confirming that the grid collapsed at about 2:06 pm on Wednesday.
The recent failure occurred after over a month, and with 3 failures in a week in October, the grid collapse increases to 12 in 2024, with 20 days left to the end of the year.
