NDC Says Only NEC Can Announce Primary Results, Urges Public to Ignore Unofficial Outcomes

The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has said that only the party’s National Executive Council (NEC) is responsible for announcing the results of its nationwide primary elections, urging members of the public to ignore unofficial outcomes circulating on social media.
In a statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Osa Director, on Sunday, the party disclosed that the results of the primaries are with its NEC, emphasising that it is solely responsible for announcing the results.
According to the statement, the National Leader of the party, Senator Seriake Dickson, called for a NEC meeting and directed all NEC members to arrive in Abuja for a pre-NEC meeting on June 2, while the NEC meeting will be held on June 3.
The party added that the general public and stakeholders would be informed of the results of its primaries when it submits the list of its candidates to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
