Niger/Kogi Customs Holds Health Lecture on Hypertension for Officers

The Niger/Kogi Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), under the leadership of the Customs Area Controller, Comptroller MS Umar, organised a health lecture on hypertension for officers, reinforcing his commitment to the wellbeing of personnel.

Comptroller Umar was represented by the Deputy Comptroller of Enforcement, DC A. Dalha, at the event held at the Command Conference Room on Wednesday.

The lecture was delivered by Superintendent of Customs UI Muhammed, the Command’s Medical Doctor, who educated officers on the causes, symptoms, prevention, and management of hypertension.

Muhammed emphasised the importance of regular medical check-ups and healthy lifestyle choices.

He also advised officers to maintain a balanced diet, engage in regular physical exercise, reduce their salt intake, and effectively manage stress, adding that hypertension is a silent killer that can lead to serious health complications if not properly managed.

In his remarks, DC Dalha urged officers to take their health seriously and apply the knowledge gained from the lecture in their daily lives, stressing that good health is essential for effective service delivery.

The lecture featured an interactive session where officers asked questions and received professional guidance on managing their health.
