No Candidate Will Be Imposed in Kano, NDC Assures Party Members

The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has assured party members that it will not impose any candidate in Kano State or elsewhere in the country following the conclusion of its primary elections.
This follows a meeting between a delegation of the national leadership of the Kwankwasiya movement, the national leader of the NDC, Senator Seriake Dickson, and the leadership of the party on Monday.
According to a statement signed by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Osa Director, the closed-door meeting was aimed at resolving issues between the Kwankwasiya movement and the legacy officials of the NDC in Kano State.
Director disclosed that Senator Dickson and the NDC leadership are mediating the process to enhance inclusion and participation among all party members.
“The NDC leadership will not impose candidates in Kano State, and indeed across the nation, as the party cherishes the virtues of internal democracy,” the statement said.
It added that the NDC has not released any official results of its primary elections in any state and urged the public and party members to disregard any list currently in circulation.
