The 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Mr. Peter Obi, has donated ₦10 million to the College of Nursing Sciences, Oji River, Enugu State, to enhance training and upgrade the institution’s learning environment.
Obi, who made this known on X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday, disclosed that he made the donation after receiving a call from the Proprietor, Bishop Ikechukwu Joseph Egbuonu, on Monday.
While addressing the students, he reminded them that they have chosen one of the world’s most noble and vital professions.
“Nurses remain the backbone of every effective healthcare system, and their dedication continues to save lives daily. To support their learning environment and ensure continuity in training, I made a support of ₦10 million to assist the institution,” Obi wrote.
The former Anambra State governor explained that investing in people, schools, hospitals, and agricultural systems will help lay the foundation for a productive and prosperous nation.
He reiterated his commitment to making modest contributions wherever possible, while urging Nigerians to work towards a nation where every child can learn, every citizen can access quality healthcare, and every community can thrive.
