
The immediate past President-General of the Maritime Workers’ Union of Nigeria (MWUN) and Deputy President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Comrade (Prince) Adewale Adeyanju, has extended warm felicitations to Mrs Kenechi Okezie, Port Manager of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Port Harcourt, Rivers State, on the occasion of her 50th birthday anniversary.
In a goodwill message, Comrade Adeyanju, who also serves as Vice President (Global) of the International Transport Workers’ Federation (ITF), described Mrs Okezie as “a woman of substance, a devoted Christian, and a woman of valour,” noting that her discipline, responsibility, and commitment to excellence stand her out in the maritime industry.
He lauded her as a resourceful mariner with an impressive record of performance and a solid reputation for professionalism. Recalling their years of collaboration during his tenure as MWUN President-General, Adeyanju commended Okezie’s consistent support for the Union, describing her as a dependable ally and a shining example of leadership in the ports sector.
According to him, Okezie has proven to be a worthy maritime personality, whose unwavering dedication to duty continues to advance the ideals of the Nigerian Ports Authority, noting that her sense of purpose and selfless service are commendable.
The current Chairman of MWUN’s Board of Trustees (BOT) further prayed for God’s continuous blessings upon Mrs Okezie, wishing her good health, prosperity, and long life.
“Our relationship in the industry will continue to thrive in good faith. May the Almighty grant you grace to continue shining in your service to the nation and humanity”, Adeyanju affirmed.
He encouraged her to “keep the flag flying” and to “continue writing her name in gold in the sands of time through hard work and dedication to duty.”
“May the good Lord continue to protect you and your homefront. Cheers to a golden age, happy birthday and remain blessed”, he added.
