Obi Donates ₦15m to College of Nursing Science in Imo

The presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Obi, has donated ₦15 million to the College of Nursing Science, Holy Rosary Hospital, Emekuku, Owerri, Imo State.

Obi made the donation on Friday during a visit to the College, in what he described as a continuation of his itinerant visits to educational and healthcare institutions across the country.

“I met with the management, staff, and students, and presented a donation of ₦15 million to the institution,” he posted on X (formerly Twitter).

Obi reminded the students that the world needs them more than they need the world because healthcare is one of humanity’s most fundamental needs.

He explained that any nation that truly desires development must invest in the education and training of healthcare professionals, who, according to him, remain indispensable to the well-being and productivity of society.

Obi expressed delight after inspecting the institution’s computer laboratory, which he said he had previously supported, and commended the remarkable progress the institution has made.

He emphasised that the vision of Nigerians and their leaders must be to build a country where functional institutions produce competent professionals, where investments are directed towards critical sectors that lift people out of poverty, and where every child, regardless of background, has the opportunity to succeed.

He added that this is how Nigerians would build a nation where the son of nobody can become somebody without knowing anybody.
