The 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Mr. Peter Obi, has continued his philanthropy efforts by donating ₦15 million to Our Lady of Lourdes College of Nursing Sciences, Ihiala, Anambra State.
Obi made the donation on Thursday, reiterating his commitment to investing in Nigeria’s health and education sectors, as well as in initiatives that help lift people out of poverty.
While addressing the students, he encouraged them to remain steadfast, disciplined, and compassionate in their pursuit of knowledge and service to humanity.
“Their dedication and passion for learning were truly inspiring,” he wrote on X (formerly Twitter). “To support the institution’s ongoing efforts in training competent healthcare professionals who continue to play vital roles in strengthening the health sector of our dear nation, I made a humble donation of ₦15 million to the institution.”
Reflecting on his tenure as governor of Anambra, Obi recalled that his administration initiated the construction of several existing structures at the institution under the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) programme, anchored on the Anambra Integrated Development Strategy (ANIDS).
“It was gratifying to see that those investments I made have continued to impact lives positively over the years,” he said, adding that the journey towards a better Nigeria must be built on education, healthcare, and poverty alleviation for inclusive success.
