President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed ambassadors to four countries — the United States of America, the United Kingdom, France, and Turkey.
President Tinubu approved the posting of the four ambassador-designates on Thursday, following the Senate’s confirmation of 68 nominees in December 2025.
According to a statement issued by Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Ambassador Ayodele Oke was confirmed as ambassador-designate to France, while Colonel Lateef Are was confirmed as ambassador-designate to the United States.
The statement also disclosed that Ambassador Amin Dalhatu, a former Nigerian ambassador to South Korea, was appointed as high commissioner-designate to the United Kingdom, while Usman Isa Dakingari Suleiman, a former governor of Kebbi State, was appointed as ambassador-designate to Turkey.
He urged the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to notify the governments of the four countries about the ambassador-designates, in accordance with diplomatic procedures.
