The Police Service Commission (PSC) has approved the appointment and posting of six (6) new Commissioners of Police (CPs).
The appointments and postings were sequel to the recent promotions in the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) released by the Commission last week.
In a statement issued by the Head, Press and Public Relations of PSC, Ikechukwu Ani on Tuesday, the new appointments will see CP Shettima Jauro Mohammed posted to Nasarawa State Command; while Rabin Mohamned, now CP, Kaduna State Command and Adepoju Olugbenga Adewale deployed to Rivers State Command.
Similarly, Mohammed Baba Azare is now the CP of Akwa Ibom State Command; Wilfred Olatokunbo Afolabi, new CP Ondo State Command and former CP, Akwa Ibom State, Joseph Eribo has been transferred to Ekiti as the new CP Ekiti State Command.
The Chairman of the Commission, DIG Hashimu Argungu enjoined the new appointees to see their appointments as call to national service.
Argungu implored them to be committed to the government’s drive to stabilise the nation and effectively ensure that the states are free of crime and criminality.
He said that the Commission will continue to monitor their progress report and encouraged them to succeed in their new endeavours.
He further charged them to reciprocate the government’s gesture by rededicating themselves to the service of their fatherland.
