Sanwo-Olu’s Aide Dismisses Resignation Claims, Says Governor in Good Health

Gboyega Akosile, the Special Adviser to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Media and Publicity, has refuted claims that the governor has been ordered to resign due to health concerns, while the Deputy Governor, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, would take over.

In a statement on Monday, Akosile described the report as false, noting that nobody has asked Governor Sanwo-Olu to resign.

“Governor Sanwo-Olu remains in good health, of sound mind, and is actively discharging his duties as Governor of Lagos State.

“Earlier today, the Governor received Deputy Governor Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, who paid him a courtesy visit to formally notify him of his intention to contest for Governor. The meeting was held in a cordial atmosphere, as is customary,” he said.

He reiterated that the report is false, urging the public to treat it as fake news.
