Workers’ Welfare: MWUN Indorama Unit Commends Bunu Over Successful CBA

Workers of the Indorama Unit of the Maritime Workers’ Union of Nigeria (MWUN) have commended the union’s President-General, Comrade Francis Bunu, for his role in the successful signing of a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) with Indorama Company at the Federal Ocean Terminal, Onne Port Complex, Rivers State.
The commendation was conveyed in a letter jointly signed by the unit’s Chairman, Comrade Obarijima, and Secretary, Comrade George Moses.
The workers acknowledged the President-General’s leadership, describing his approach to workers’ welfare and industrial relations as instrumental to the successful outcome of the negotiation process.
They noted that his responsiveness and commitment to addressing workers’ concerns ensured that their interests were adequately protected throughout the engagement.
They further stated that the union’s diplomatic strategy, backed by the President-General’s efforts, played a crucial role in facilitating the smooth conclusion of the agreement, which they said reflects the value of workers’ contributions to national economic growth.
The unit also highlighted that the transparent leadership style within the union under Bunu provided the needed confidence and unity that culminated in the successful signing of the agreement, noting that the outcome is beneficial to both the workforce and Indorama as a company.
The workers also appreciated the management of Indorama for its cooperation and sincerity of purpose during the negotiation process, describing the development as a positive step towards sustained industrial harmony and organisational growth.
