2026 Guber Poll: APC Not Responsible for Failure of Unseen Parties in Ekiti – Gov. Uzodimma

The Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodimma, has said that the All Progressives Congress (APC) is not responsible for the failure of what he described as “unseen political parties” in Ekiti State, expressing confidence that the ruling party remains firmly on course ahead of the governorship election on June 20, 2026.

Uzodimma made the remarks on Tuesday during an APC rally held in Ado-Ekiti in support of Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji’s second-term bid.

Addressing party supporters and stakeholders, the governor disclosed that the APC had conducted extensive grassroots mobilisation across local government areas, claiming the party had witnessed overwhelming support for its candidate.

“We moved around in local governments, we went through the streets, we saw organic support. We saw a consensus that the governor has done well and deserves a second term,” Uzodimma stated.

He reiterated that the APC remains the dominant political force in the state, noting that its campaign had reached polling units and communities across Ekiti. “APC is the only party we saw in Ekiti State. It is the only party that has campaigned from house to house, polling unit to polling unit.”

Uzodimma dismissed concerns about rival parties, maintaining that the APC should not be blamed for their perceived shortcomings.

“We are not responsible for the failure of any unseen political party in Ekiti State,” he noted. “We are here to support the victory Almighty God has given to us.”

The governor also urged party members and residents to sustain their support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, while calling for votes for the APC in the upcoming election.

He further expressed optimism about the party’s chances at the polls, adding that indicators on the ground showed widespread approval of Governor Oyebanji’s administration.
