Trade Facilitation: Kebbi Customs Processes First Declaration Through B’Odogwu Platform, Sensitises Stakeholders

The Kebbi Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has successfully processed its first declaration using the B’Odogwu platform.

The B’Odogwu is an indigenous platform recently developed by the NCS with the support of its concessionaires under the Trade Modernisation Project.

The event took place during a sensitisation exercise on the B’Odogwu platform, conducted by ICT Modernisation Officers for Officers and Stakeholders of the Command on Thursday, August 14, 2025.

The Public Relations Officer of the Command, Superintendent of Customs, Mohammed Tajuddeen Salisu who made this known in a statement made available to Thelensng on Monday, described it as a historic milestone.

In his remarks, the Customs Area Controller, Comptroller CC Nwokorie, lauded the Comptroller-General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi for championing such an innovative initiative aimed at enhancing revenue generation and promoting seamless trade facilitation.

Comptroller Nwokorie further urged Officers and Stakeholders to give utmost attention to the sensitisation exercise, stressing that B’Odogwu represents the future of Customs operations.

He emphasised that, as a vital revenue generation tool, it is essential for Officers to acquire adequate knowledge of the platform and its applications.

Following the training session, during which Licensed Agents and Traders were guided on registration and effective use of the platform, the Chairman of the Nigeria Customs Licensed Agents, Kebbi State Chapter, Alhaji Muhammad Nahali Kamba, commended the Customs’ leadership for the initiative.

He pledged the association’s commitment to complying with all guidelines governing its use, signifying the collective responsibility towards embracing innovation for improved service delivery.
