
The Customs Area Controller, Kebbi Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Comptroller Mahmoud Matawalle Ibrahim, has visited the scene of the attack in which Deputy Superintendent of Customs Sadiq Tahir Muhammad lost his life.
DSC Muhammad died along the Maje axis in Bagudo Local Government Area of the state following the attack on Saturday, November 8, 2025.

According to a statement by Mubarak Mustapha, Assistant Superintendent of Customs I, the visit on Wednesday also included Commanding Officer, 1st Battalion of the Nigerian Army, Major Shola Elijah Moses; the Village Head (Wakilin Maje); representatives of sister agencies; officers stationed in the area; and members of the community.
In his address, Comptroller Matawalle commiserated with the officers and men of the Command as well as members of the community over the tragic incident.

He prayed for the repose of the soul of the deceased and urged officers to continue to synergise with sister security agencies while maintaining cordial relationships with their host communities.
The Comptroller also advised officers to remain vigilant, always be well-kitted, and respond decisively when attacked.
He further emphasised the importance of creating platforms for seamless information sharing with other security agencies.
On his part, Major Moses reminded officers that “we are our brothers’ keepers”, and urged greater cooperation at both operational and tactical levels, including the sharing of timely intelligence.

The Village Head of Maje, ably represented by the Chief Imam of Maje, lmam Yusuf, also offered prayers for the repose of the deceased, extended his condolences to the NCS, and pledged the community’s continued cooperation in sharing relevant information with security agencies.
