Nigeria Can Be Secured in Six Months – Charles Omole

A lawyer and security consultant, Dr. Charles Omole, has asserted that Nigeria’s security challenges can be resolved within six months if the right people are appointed to key positions.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Monday, Omole argued that there are many security experts in Nigeria with the technical know-how who are rarely appointed, noting that the current security leadership should resign if they cannot restore peace in the country within three to six months.

“Truth is, there are solutions that will secure this nation within six months. There are many with the insight, knowledge and determination. But they are never appointed into lead positions that will enable them bring permanent security to Nigeria.

“Every current appointees into our security estate should be made to sign a resignation letter if there is no visible restoration of peace within 3-6 months. Any replacement should be made to sign same resignation letter as they are being appointed. Enough of this nonsense,” Omole decried.

He questioned why Nigeria should be suffering from insecurity despite practical and effective solutions, stressing that securing the lives and property of Nigerians is a doable task.

Omole urged the country to stop reinforcing failures, while pointing out that a President cannot do everything alone.

He further stated that appointees must step up and take the necessary action, encouraging them to create a technical team to advise them on swiftly securing the nation if they lack the required expertise.

“We are tired to this constant drip, drip of bad news on a daily basis. People are shouting out solutions but nobody seems to be listening in government,” he added.
