Marwa Reaffirms Commitment to Officers’ Welfare, Children’s Education

The Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (rtd.), has reiterated his commitment to the welfare of officers and their families, particularly in the areas of education and improved living conditions.

Marwa gave the assurance on Friday, October 30, 2026, during a working visit to the newly launched pioneer NDLEA Command School at the Agency’s Barracks in Yola, Adamawa State. He was accompanied on the visit by the Zone 2 Commander, ACGN Ishaku Yusuf Kwajafa, and other senior officers of the Agency.

During the visit, the NDLEA boss inspected the school facilities and interacted with pupils, students, and members of staff, assuring them of his continued support towards developing the institution into one of the leading schools in the country.

Addressing the students, Marwa urged them to embrace discipline, punctuality, and academic excellence, stressing that their commitment to these values would play a significant role in shaping their future.

He charged them to take their studies seriously, read diligently, and work hard to excel in their examinations. He also emphasised the importance of worshipping God, respecting their parents and teachers, and shunning illicit drugs.

Marwa stated that the establishment of the school demonstrates the Agency’s commitment to providing children of its personnel with access to quality education within their immediate community.

He also interacted with members of the NDLEA Officers’ Wives Association and other residents of the barracks, who expressed appreciation for the establishment of the school, describing it as a significant investment in the future of their children.

The women equally commended Marwa’s eadership and the transformation recorded in the Agency under his watch.

Responding, Marwa thanked them for their support and assured them that the welfare of officers and their families would remain a priority under his leadership.

He further disclosed that arrangements were at an advanced stage for the inauguration of the NDLEA Officers’ Wives Association, which would provide a formal platform for officers’ wives to organise, collaborate, and contribute to the welfare and well-being of the NDLEA family.

The visit provided an opportunity for the NDLEA leadership to assess the progress of the newly established school and engage with members of the barracks community on issues relating to education, personnel welfare, and institutional development.
