Ikeja Electric (IE) has announced the hike in the cost of Band A Feeders tariff.
IE said that ‘the initial subsidized tariff’ will now be purchased at the rate of ₦225 per kilowatt-hour (₦225/kwh) from the previous rate of ₦68/kwh starting from Thursday, April 4, 2024.
The distribution company made this known on X, formerly Twitter on Thursday in a notice signed by its management.
“The gradual transition from subsidized tariff to a cost reflective regime has commenced with the upward tariff review of our Band A Feeders to ₦225/kwh effective 4th April 2024 with the guaranteed availability of 20-24 hours supply daily,” IE disclosed.
It noted that the tariff for Bands B, C, D and E remains unchanged.
IE also assured its customers that the development will lead to improved service delivery across all band A feeders and the gradual upgrade of the other feeder bands to band A.
