The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, on Monday, visited Borno State to condole with the government and the people affected by the recent floods in the state.
IGP Egbetokun, in a statement issued by the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) Spokesperson, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi on Monday, expressed sympathy to Governor Babagana Zulum, reiterating the security agency’s commitment to providing adequate security for the residents of the state.
He promised to set in motion machinery to repair the damaged police facilities in the affected communities.
The IGP also addressed officers and men of the command, emphasising the need for professionalism and dedication towards securing Borno residents and their properties even at this trying time of the disaster that just wreaked havoc in the affected communities.
He encouraged them to assist the government in providing relief and restoring normalcy back to the state.
On his part, Governor Zulum expressed gratitude to the IGP for his love and commitment towards reforming the NPF.
He equally commended him for his sterling leadership qualities in piloting the affairs of the police to discharge its duties as expected.
The IGP was accompanied by Deputy Inspectors General of Police of the departments of Finance & Administration and Operations, DIG Bala Ciroma, and DIG Ede Ayuba along with the AIG Airwing, AIG Danladi Lalas.
