Kano Police Commissioner, Dogo Wins Distinguished Service to Public Safety Award

The Commissioner of Police, Kano State, CP Salman Dogo Garba has won the Distinguished Service to Public Safety Award for improving community safety and security across the state.

In a statement issued by the Public Relations Officer of the Kano State Police Command, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, CP Dogo won the award at the 6th Annual Pandora Awards held at Luxurious Event Centre in Kano on Wednesday.

“This prestigious award recognizes CP Dogo’s unwavering dedication, exemplary service, and significant contributions to enhancing public safety and security in Kano State,” SP Kiyawa noted.

The organisers lauded the Commissioner stating that: “This award is a testament to your unwavering dedication, exemplary service and significant contributions to enhancing public safety and security. Your commitment to safeguarding lives and ensuring peace within our communities has not gone unnoticed, and we are proud to celebrate your achievements.”

The award ceremony also honoured the Command’s Spokesperson, SP Kiyawa, with the Digital Bridge Builder for Police-Citizen Relations Award.

“This acknowledgment highlights the Command’s outstanding efforts in leveraging digital platforms to foster better communication and understanding between the Police and the community.”

Kiyawa, who received the award on behalf of the Kano State Police Command remarked: “I’m highly delighted to be here as the representative of the State Commissioner of Police, CP Salman Dogo Garba.

“We commend the organisers for keying in to the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, PhD, NPM community policing initiatives by considering the issue of security as a collective responsibility and taking the Police as part and parcel of the community. This recognition is a challenge to all officers and men of the Command to continue to be dedicated and alive to their responsibility.”

The Command expressed gratitude for the support and cooperation of the law-abiding residents, and reiterated its commitment to ensuring safety and security of the state.
