APVA Awards 2024: Public Speaking Coach Oludolapo Makes Spoken Word Category Nominees

Diction and Public Speaking Coach, Oludolapo Adewale has been nominated for the spoken word category in the inaugural edition of African Podcast and Voice Artists (APVA) awards by Afripods.

According to Afripods, Oludolapo is vastly experienced in diction coaching, presentation, production, voiceovers, content creation, script and speech writing.

She has trained over 70 teachers, 500 pupils in different schools and over 500 in group diction sessions including WEMA Bank PLC’s Marketing and Communications team.

The media and communications professional has also handled more than 12 executive one-to-one masterclasses, trained various church groups, budding Radio/TV presenters to mention a few.

She is equally a bilingual voiceover and spoken word artiste that has voiced for organisations such as 9Mobile, Wakanow, SuperSport, Olam Agri, Women Radio, among others – and won the Outstanding Presenter award in the Southwest region (morning ride) at the Nigerian Broadcasters Merit Awards in 2016.

The nominee is a graduate of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso with B.Tech in Chemical Engineering – and also obtained diploma certificate in Public Relations (PR) from the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR).

She also holds a TESOL certification to teach English across the globe – and passionate about helping younger females grow in the media which led to the establishment of Media Girls Nigeria, where valuable career resources are shared.

Afripods stated that the theme “King of The Game” is aimed at celebrating the resilience, creativity, and leadership of African audio creatives.

“This year, we aim to reflect on our collective journey toward excellence, innovation, and the mastery of our craft, affirming that every voice has the power to shape our world.”

The organisers highlighted the aims of the awards as follows; “Acknowledge, highlight and celebrate the achievements of African voice talents; Educate the globe with industry insights; Motivate audio creatives at all levels in their chosen field of endeavor; Develop a sense of pride in being an APVA Nominee or Awardee.

“Build self-confidence through rewards for excellence, provide role models and mentors for budding creatives to follow their achievements and the pursuit of excellence and encourage leadership on the continent.”

The Association of African Podcasters and Voice Artists (APVA) is a community-driven organization that seeks to discover, amplify, and celebrate African voice/audio creatives such as podcasters, voice artists, and spoken word artists.

It is dedicated to fostering the growth and development of the audio-creative industry in Africa.
