Bishop David Oyedepo’s Covenant University has been ranked as the best varsity in Nigeria.
This is according to Times Higher Education (THE) 2025, with rankings based on 18 performance indicators, including teaching, research, industry engagement, and international outlook.
The private university founded in year 2002 is currently the best in Nigeria followed by Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria and Landmark University, another varsity associated with the preacher and founder of Living Faith Church Worldwide, Bishop Oyedepo in third place.
University of Ibadan (UI), University of Lagos (UNILAG), Bayero University are ranked fourth, fifth and sixth respectively.
While Federal University of Technology, Akure is ranked 7th, Federal University of Technology, Minna and University of Benin (UNIBEN) are positioned in 8th and 9th.
Others are University of Ilorin (UNILORIN), University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN) and Ekiti State University in 10th, 11th and 12th respectively.
