Ethiopian Airlines has been named Best Airline in Africa at the 2026 SKYTRAX World Airline Awards for the ninth consecutive year, reaffirming its position as one of the continent’s leading carriers.
The airline also received two other awards at the ceremony — Best Economy Class Onboard Catering in Africa and Best Business Class in Africa, recognising its performance across key service categories.
Commenting on the awards, Ethiopian Airlines Group Chief Executive Officer, Mesfin Tasew, described the ninth consecutive recognition as a proud milestone for the airline.
“Being recognised as the Skytrax Best Airline in Africa for the ninth consecutive year is a proud milestone for Ethiopian Airlines. This achievement reflects the confidence that our valued customers place in us, the dedication of our employees, and our continued commitment to delivering world-class service.

The airline said the latest accolades reflect its continued investment in service excellence and customer satisfaction, as well as the efforts of its employees across its operations.
