FG Launches Mineral Resources Decision Support System

The Federal Government (FG) has established a new initiative in the mining sector which is referred to as the Nigeria Mineral Resources Decision Support System (NMDSS).

This was made known by the Minister of Solid Minerals, Mr. Dele Alake on Tuesday, May 14.

According to him, the new development will provide vital information on various aspects of the mining sector in Nigeria.

“To enhance the ease of doing business in the mining sector, today, we launched the Nigeria Mineral Resources Decision Support System (NMDSS).

“During the launch, I highlighted how this portal will provide crucial information on Nigeria’s mineral resources, mining sector policies, and investment incentives globally,” Mr. Alake said.

He emphasised that the NMDSS will serve as a vital tool in the ministry’s effort to streamline operations in the solid minerals industry.

Minister Alake stressed that it will offer cost-saving benefits for potential foreign investors and easy access to essential information with just a click.

He added: “This system aims to support stakeholders and investors in obtaining necessary details, facilitating informed decisions and bridging gaps in understanding about mineral deposits and mining infrastructure.”

The minister further said that the citizens can access the NMDSS portal at: https:/miningdecision.minesandsteel.gov.ng/nmrdss/.
