The Governor of Rivers State, Mr. Siminalayi Fubara has announced the flag-off of the 33.5km Elele-Umudioga-Egbeda-Ikiri-Omoku road dualisation in the headquarters of Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area (LGA) of the state.
Mr. Fubara made the announcement on Thursday and emphasised the importance of the development, stressing that it will improve the communities around the LGAs; comprising Ikwere, Emohua and Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni.
“We embarked on one of the signature projects of my administration today. The flag-off of the 33.5km Elele-Umudioga-Egbeda-Ikiri-Omoku dualisation project is significant in opening up our various communities across three local government areas which include Ikwerre, Emohua and Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni.
“While the project will promote the commercial activities of our people, even more importantly, it will significantly improve their well-being by reducing the man-hours spent in traffic on that route,” he stated.
The governor also disclosed that his administration is dedicated to judiciously channeling the resources of the people through delivering quality projects like the Elele-Umudioga-Egbeda-Ikiri-Omoku road which is being executed through internally generated revenue.
