Ibom Air Begins Domestic Flights from New Uyo International Terminal

Ibom Air has commenced domestic flight operations from the newly commissioned International Terminal of the Victor Attah International Airport, Uyo, marking a major milestone in the airline’s expansion and service enhancement drive.
The airline announced that all its domestic operations were relocated to the new terminal with effect from Sunday, June 14, 2026, as part of efforts to improve operational efficiency and deliver a more seamless travel experience for passengers.
The development was disclosed in a statement issued by the Group Manager, Marketing and Communication of Ibom Airlines Limited, Aniekan Essienette.
According to the airline, the state-of-the-art terminal features expanded passenger handling capacity, improved check-in and boarding processes, enhanced security systems and greater comfort for travellers.
Speaking on the development, the Chief Executive Officer of Ibom Air said: “Today marks another defining moment in the evolution of Ibom Air and the aviation sector in Akwa Ibom State. The commencement of our domestic operations from the new International Terminal reflects our unwavering commitment to providing our passengers with a seamless, safe, and world-class travel experience. This facility not only elevates the standard of air travel for our customers but also positions Akwa Ibom as a strategic aviation hub for business, tourism, and regional connectivity.”
The airline noted that the relocation of domestic operations aligns with its vision of continually enhancing customer experience while supporting the economic development objectives of Akwa Ibom State.
Ibom Air advised passengers to arrive at the airport ahead of their scheduled departure times and familiarise themselves with the facilities at the new terminal to ensure smooth travel procedures.
The airline also expressed appreciation to Governor Umo Eno, the Akwa Ibom State Government, the Ministry of Aviation and Airport Development, the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), service partners and customers for their support towards the successful transition.
Ibom Air said the commencement of domestic operations from the new international terminal would further strengthen Akwa Ibom State’s position as an emerging aviation hub while boosting business, tourism and regional connectivity.
