Kano Police Arrest 4 Suspects for Armed Robbery, Drug Trafficking, Recover Illicit Substances 

The Kano State Police Command has announced a major milestone in its recent operations with the arrest of four suspected armed robbers and drug traffickers in the state.

The arrested suspects are Nura Sani, Ibrahim Lawan, Alhaji Isyaku Babayo, and Mohd Ahmed.

The Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, disclosed this in a statement on Thursday, describing the successful operations as part of the Command’s ongoing efforts to combat crime and ensure the safety and security of lives and property across the state.

“In a commendable operation, the Command’s operatives successfully arrested notorious armed robbery suspects, Nura Sani, ‘m’, 20 years of Zango Town, Bauchi State, and Ibrahim Lawan, ‘m’, 35 years of Katsina State.

“The suspects were apprehended following a daring robbery incident on 14th September 2025 at Tokarawa Quarters, where they stormed a residence, armed with dangerous weapons, and made away with a Mercedes Benz GLK valued at ₦26,500,000, along with phones and other valuables,” the statement noted.

SP Kiyawa revealed that the Command’s operatives in Jalli Village, Dawakin Tofa LGA, also recovered 540 packets of suspected Pregabalin capsules valued at ₦40,500,000.

He disclosed that a surveillance team intercepted the duo of Babayo and Ahmed — both from K/Mazugal and Dorayi Babba respectively, at the Trailer Park in Dangauro at about 11:15 hrs on September 30, 2025.

Kiyawa affirmed that the suspects were found in possession of seven bags of a suspected liquid intoxicant, commonly known as “Akuskura”, emphasising that each bag contained 350 bottles, totalling 2,450 bottles, with an estimated value of ₦2,450,000.

“In the spirit of inter-agency collaboration, the Command has handed over the recovered cases, including suspects and over ₦120,000,000 worth of suspected Tramadol, Pregabalin, and Cannabis Sativa to the NDLEA, Kano Command, for further investigation,” the spokesperson added.

Commenting on the arrests, the Kano Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, commended the bravery and professionalism of the officers involved in the operations.

CP Bakori said that efforts are ongoing to trace and arrest other suspects at large and recover all stolen items.

He further appreciated the unwavering support and cooperation of the public while reiterating the Command’s commitment to working together to build a safer and more secure state.
