Oghenemine Ogidi: Delta Police Arrest 4 Suspected Gunrunners Over Recovered Beretta Pistol

The Delta State Police Command has announced the arrest of four suspected gunrunners linked to the Beretta pistol recovered in Effurun following the fatal shooting of Oghenemine Ogidi by ASP Nuhu Usman.
The Command had earlier disclosed that Ogidi was arrested while attempting to dispatch a parcel containing a Beretta pistol and four rounds of ammunition.
The Commissioner of Police, Yemi Oyeniyi, during a press briefing on Monday, announced the arrest of members of the alleged gunrunning syndicate, namely Emmanuel Chukwuemeka, Clifford Boleyelefa, Amadi Princewill, and Amadi Felix Chibuike.
CP Oyeniyi revealed that the suspects were arrested in Bayelsa and Imo States following painstaking investigations and intelligence-led operations carried out by operatives of the Command.
He stated that Chukwuemeka was arrested in Bayelsa on May 4 alongside his friend and roommate, whose phone he used as a means of communication to purchase the gun.
Oyeniyi noted that Chukwuemeka confessed to buying the gun from Princewill for ₦290,000 and selling it to one Desmond, who is currently at large, for ₦380,000. Desmond subsequently waybilled the firearm to Effurun and contacted Ogidi to collect it and transport it to Sapele.
Following Chukwuemeka’s confession, Princewill was trailed and arrested in Imo State on May 15. Upon his arrest and interrogation, he stated that he had purchased the gun from Amadi Felix for ₦200,000.
The CP disclosed that Felix was subsequently tracked and arrested in Owerri on May 16.
While noting that all the arrested suspects are members of the Black Axe Confraternity, Oyeniyi added that they would be charged in court upon the conclusion of investigations.
He further stated that the manhunt for other suspects, including Desmond, is still ongoing.
