Transfer: Victor Moses Joins Luton Town in England Return

Championship side, Luton Town, have announced the signing of former Nigerian international, Victor Moses.

Moses, 33, upon the expiration of his contract with Russian outfit, Spartak Moscow earlier in the summer joined the English side.

“I’m looking forward to it. I had a few offers from Europe, but I told my agent that I set my mind on staying here, and here we are. I’m very pleased and honoured to be at this club, and I just can’t wait to get going,” the winger enthused.

He stated that the words of Luton Town’s manager, Rob Edwards, and the club’s directors convinced him to make the move.

“They told me the plan and the history of the club, and I just want to be part of the success. I want to come here, enjoy my football, work hard for the club and the team, and get back to where we belong in the Premier League.”

On his part, Edwards said: “We think he’s someone who can provide some really good competition for us.”

Luton Town will be the 10th side Moses will be plying his trade, including Crystal Palace, Wigan Athletic, Chelsea, Liverpool and Stoke City.

Others are West Ham United, Fenerbahce, Inter Milan and Spartak Moscow.

He scored 10 goals in 83 games in his four-year stint in Russia – and netted 61 times in 474 appearances across the clubs he has represented.

The former Inter Milan player also brings a winning mentality into the team having won a number of trophies including English Premier League, FA Cup, UEFA Europa League, to mention a few.

Luton have only secured a point in 4 games in the English Championship this season, thus currently sits as the pen-ultimate team (23rd) on the standings.
