
The Women’s International Shipping and Trading Association (WISTA Nigeria) has commended the Federal Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy and the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) on the official launch of the Cabotage Vessel Financing Fund (CVFF) Application Portal, describing it as a major milestone for the Nigerian maritime sector.
In a statement made available to ThelensNG on Friday, the President of WISTA Nigeria, Dr. Odunayo Ani, said the launch of the portal represents a significant advancement that will strengthen confidence among stakeholders in the sector.
Speaking on behalf of women maritime associations in the Nigerian maritime industry, Dr. Ani congratulated the Federal Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy, led by Minister, Adegboyega Oyetola and NIMASA under the leadership of its Director-General, Dr. Dayo Mobereola, noting that the initiative reflects strong leadership and efficiency.
“This milestone marks a significant advancement in our sector, a forward-looking initiative that enhances transparency, promotes ease of access, and strengthens confidence among stakeholders. It reflects strong leadership and a shared commitment to driving efficiency, inclusiveness, and sustainable growth across the marine and blue economy landscape,” she stated.
Dr. Ani further commended the Minister and the Director-General for what she described as their strategic vision and dedication to implementing practical solutions that address longstanding needs in the industry.
She stressed that the commissioning of the portal is a clear demonstration of deliberate efforts to modernise processes and deepen stakeholder engagement.

Reaffirming the position of women in the maritime ecosystem, the WISTA Nigeria President expressed support for innovative initiatives, while also pledging continued collaboration with relevant stakeholders in the sector.
