The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has inaugurated the Oyo State Federal Task Force (FTF) on Counterfeit and Fake Drugs and Unwholesome Processed Foods.

The Oyo State FTF team was inaugurated on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, by its chairman, Dr. Martins Iluyomade, who is the Director of Investigation and Enforcement at NAFDAC.

Dr. Iluyomade explained that the Federal Task Force is being inaugurated across different states to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of its operations.

According to him, the decentralisation of the Task Force will enable it to operate directly within the states. He noted that the Federal Task Force is enacted by Nigerian law and established by the Federal Government to carry out its mandate.

The inauguration of the Oyo State team marks part of the ongoing efforts to ensure the Task Force functions at the state level.
