Customs, Police Deepen Security Cooperation in Kogi

The Niger/Kogi Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) and the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) have strengthened their partnership aimed at tackling security challenges and enhancing national development.

The partnership was reinforced when the Customs Area Controller, Comptroller Muhammad Sani Umar, paid a courtesy visit to the Commissioner of Police, Kogi State Command, CP Naziru Bello Kankarofi, at the Police Headquarters in Lokoja on Tuesday.

The Command’s Public Relations Officer, Assistant Superintendent of Customs I, Abubakar Abdulkareem Zakariya, made this known in a statement, noting that the visit was marked by warmth and mutual respect.

Zakariya also stated that the visit highlights the strong and existing collaboration between the NCS and the NPF in Kogi State.

In his remarks, Comptroller Umar expressed appreciation for the warm reception accorded to him and his entourage.

He noted that the visit was aimed at further strengthening the already cordial relationship between both agencies, emphasising the importance of synergy, friendliness, and robust inter-agency cooperation in tackling security challenges and enhancing national development.

He reiterated the Service’s commitment to sustaining effective collaboration with the Police and other security agencies in the state.

In his response, CP Kankarofi welcomed the Comptroller and described the visit as timely and significant.

He mentioned that all security agencies in Kogi operate as one family, working collectively towards maintaining peace and security.

The CP commended the officers of the NCS in the state for their professionalism and robust cooperation with the Police, as well as the Comptroller for finding time to visit, and offered prayers for the nation.

The visit concluded on a note of renewed commitment by both agencies to deepen collaboration, enhance intelligence sharing, and promote a safer and more secure Kogi State.
