Ibom Air has taken delivery of its third Airbus A220-300 aircraft, as the airline continues its fleet modernisation and expansion programme.
The aircraft, registered 5N-CDC, was formally handed over to Ibom Air at the Airbus A220 final assembly facility in Mirabel, Canada, following the signing of the Transfer of Title (TOT) documents by the airline’s Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Mr George Uriesi.
The latest delivery is expected to strengthen the airline’s operational capacity and support the expansion of its route network.
Speaking after the Transfer of Title ceremony, Uriesi said: “We are most delighted to receive the third A220-300 into our growing, modern fleet. We thank our Shareholder, the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Eno, without whose strong support this would not have been possible. We appreciate his continued confidence in Ibom Air and his commitment to the airline’s growth.”
The addition of the aircraft brings Ibom Air’s Airbus A220-300 fleet to three, reinforcing the airline’s focus on operating a modern fleet as it seeks to improve connectivity and service delivery across its network.
The A220-300 is a next-generation narrow-body aircraft designed to offer improved fuel efficiency, passenger comfort and operational performance, making it suitable for domestic and regional routes.
The delivery is another step in Ibom Air’s efforts to build capacity and strengthen its position within Nigeria’s aviation industry.
