NAFDAC Alerts Nigerians to Recall of Indomie Vegetable Flavour Noodles in France

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has alerted Nigerians to the recall of Indomie vegetable flavour noodles in France due to the presence of undeclared allergens.

NAFDAC disclosed that the French Authority, Rappel Conso, issued a notice regarding the recall, explaining that the product contains undeclared allergens, specifically milk and eggs, which may pose a significant health risk to consumers with allergies or intolerances.

The regulatory body provided the following details of the recalled product:

Recalled Product: Noodles Vegetable Product

Brand Name: Indomie

Batch: All lots

Best Before Date: 06/02/2026

Country of Origin: Not stated

“Indomie noodles have become a household staple in many countries. Their popularity is rooted in convenience, versatility, affordability, and the comfort they bring to family meals.

“Although the official risk of these products entering Nigeria is low due to the Federal Government’s ban on noodle importation, there remains a need for heightened vigilance to prevent possible illicit entry or circulation of the implicated Indomie brand,” NAFDAC said.

The agency noted that it has commenced vigilance activities to guard against the possible entry of the product into the country, as acquisition through online purchases or international travel cannot be ruled out.

NAFDAC revealed that all zonal directors and state coordinators have been directed to conduct surveillance and mop up the product if found within their respective zones and states.

It advised distributors, retailers, and consumers to exercise caution and remain vigilant within the supply chain to avoid the distribution, sale, and consumption of the recalled foreign brand of Indomie noodles.

The agency urged consumers to discard the product and refrain from consuming it — and report any suspected sale of the implicated product to its nearest office or through its toll-free number, 08001623322.

Consumers were also encouraged to report any adverse events or side effects related to the consumption of the product through the nearest NAFDAC office, or via the e-reporting platforms available on its website, www.nafdac.gov.ng
