Internet Fraud: EFCC Arrests 47 Suspects in Benin, Recovers Cars, Phones, Other Items 



The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested 47 suspected internet fraudsters at different locations in Benin City, Edo State.

EFCC disclosed that the suspects were apprehended on Tuesday, April 15, 2025 by its Benin Zonal Directorate.

“The suspects were arrested following credible intelligence that linked them to fraudulent internet activities.

“Items recovered from them at the point of arrest included five exotic cars, smartphones and laptop computers,” the anti-corruption agency stated.

It added that they would be charged to court after investigations are concluded.
