FG Announces Two-Day Public Holidays for Eid-ul-Fitr
The Federal Government has announced two-day public holidays — Thursday, March 19 and Friday, March 20, 2026, to mark the end of Ramadan, Eid-ul-Fitr.
The Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, disclosed this in a statement signed by the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Dr. Magdalene Ajani, on Tuesday.
Minister Tunji-Ojo congratulated the Muslim faithful on the successful completion of the holy month of Ramadan.
He urged Muslims to sustain the virtues of love, generosity, peace, tolerance, and sacrifice, as emphasised during Ramadan.
The Minister also called on all Nigerians to use the festive period to pray for the continued peace, unity, and prosperity of the nation.
He wished the Muslim faithful a joyful Eid-ul-Fitr celebration and encouraged citizens to celebrate responsibly and extend acts of kindness to the less privileged in society.
He reaffirmed the FG’s commitment to fostering national unity and peaceful coexistence among all Nigerians.
