Every Citizen Will Feel the Impact of My Administration – President Tinubu

President Bola Tinubu has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to ensuring that the dividends of governance reach every part of the country, declaring that every Nigerian will feel the impact of his government’s development agenda.

The President made the declaration on Thursday during the Day 17 commissioning of the newly rehabilitated Old Keffi Road in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), where he was represented by Senate President Godswill Akpabio.

Tinubu reiterated that his administration remains focused on delivering infrastructure that improves the lives of citizens, assuring Nigerians that development will continue to extend beyond city centres to satellite towns, districts and area councils.

“Every district deserves access. Every citizen deserves to feel the impact of my administration,” he said.

The President described the rehabilitation of the 16-kilometre Old Keffi Road, stretching from Kado Village through Life Camp to Dede Junction on the Outer Northern Expressway, as another fulfilment of the promises made under the Renewed Hope Agenda.

According to him, the project is tangible evidence that the era of abandoned projects is over, noting that his administration is committed to identifying the needs of the people, providing solutions and delivering results.

He explained that the road would significantly reduce travel time and transportation costs, ease the movement of goods and services, improve access to businesses and enhance economic activities in communities along the corridor.

Tinubu added that the integration of streetlights under the Light Up Abuja initiative would improve security, extend commercial activities beyond daylight hours and make movement safer for residents.

The President also emphasised that his administration rewards competence rather than patronage, saying contractors who deliver quality projects on schedule would continue to receive government patronage, while those who fail to meet expectations would not.

Commending the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, for his leadership, Tinubu disclosed that the minister had transformed the FCT into “a site of visible results” through diligent supervision and timely execution of projects.

He praised Wike for ensuring that development reaches both the city centre and underserved communities, stating that no part of the capital should be left behind.

The President also acknowledged the contributions of the Minister of State for the FCT, Dr. Mariya Mahmoud, and the entire FCT Administration team for maintaining quality standards despite tight project timelines.

Tinubu urged residents and traditional rulers in the benefiting communities to safeguard the infrastructure by protecting streetlights, keeping drainage channels free of refuse and promptly reporting any damage to ensure the road serves the people for generations.

He maintained that his administration would continue to invest in infrastructure that promotes inclusion, safety and economic growth across the FCT and the country at large.

The President’s representative thereafter officially commissioned the rehabilitated Old Keffi Road for commerce, mobility, security and the continued development of the FCT and Nigeria.
