Fire Breaks Out at Lagos Int’l Airport Terminal as FAAN Launches Emergency Response

A fire incident has occurred at Terminal 2 of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, on Sunday, with emergency responders swiftly mobilised to contain the blaze.
The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) said its Aerodrome Rescue and Firefighting Service (ARFFS) was actively responding to the incident, adding that efforts were ongoing to bring the situation under control.
In a statement posted on its verified X (formerly Twitter) account, FAAN assured the public that there had been no reported casualties or loss of life.
“The FAAN Aerodrome Rescue and Firefighting Service (ARFFS) is currently responding to the incident and working diligently to contain the situation.”
The authority did not immediately disclose the cause of the fire or the extent of damage to the terminal at the time of filing this report. It, however, stated that it will provide further updates as more information becomes available.
