EFCC Nabs 8 Suspected Internet Fraudsters in Uyo

Operatives of the Uyo Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have arrested eight (8) suspected internet fraudsters at Osong Ama Extension in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.

This was disclosed by EFCC on X, formerly Twitter on Wednesday, May 8.

According to EFCC, they were apprehended on Thursday, May 2, 2024 in an early morning sting operation following credible intelligence on their suspected involvement in internet fraud.

The anti-corruption agency stated that the items recovered from the suspects include seven (7) laptops, thirteen (13) smartphones, two (2) wristwatches and one (1) router.

It also said that they would be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.
