Manchester United Announces Nistelrooy’s Departure as Amorim Arrives

Manchester United have announced the departure of Ruud van Nistelrooy as the interim manager of the team.

Recall that Van Nistelrooy, 48, held the position following the dismissal of Erik ten Hag some weeks ago.

“Ruud van Nistelrooy will take charge of the team as interim head coach, supported by the current coaching team, whilst a permanent head coach is recruited,” the club stated on the appointment.

However, the Red Devils in a statement on Monday confirmed the exit of Nistelrooy upon the arrival of new gaffer, Ruben Amorim.

“Manchester United can confirm that Ruud van Nistelrooy has left the club. Ruud rejoined in the summer and has taken charge of the team for the past four matches as interim head coach.

“Ruud is, and always will be, a Manchester United legend. We are grateful for his contribution and the way in which he has approached his role throughout his time with the club. He will always be very welcome at Old Trafford,” the statement noted.

It added: “Rene Hake, Jelle ten Rouwelaar and Pieter Morel have also departed and we wish them all well for the future.

“We will confirm the full men’s first team coaching composition in due course.”

Meanwhile, the former PSV Eindhoven manager acknowledged that his short stint as gaffer was exceptional.

“It was a beautiful moment. To come back to the club and I’ve started working, and then doing the four games, all at home, getting some good results and some good goals. To close it down with this, it’s special. My dad was here, my son. So, it was a fantastic moment,” he told the club’s website.
