Internet Fraud: EFCC Nabs 30 Suspects in Asaba, Recovers Cars, Others

Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Friday arrested 30 suspected internet fraudsters in Asaba, Delta State.

EFCC disclosed that the suspects were nabbed by its Benin Zonal Directorate based on credible intelligence on their alleged involvement in internet-related fraud.

“Items recovered from them at the point of arrest include five exotic cars and phones. The suspects will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded,” it stated.

The Commission also announced the interception of 8 trucks conveying suspected illegal solid minerals in Makurdi, Benue State.

It revealed that the seizure was made on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at Katsina-ala Local Government Area (LGA) of the State.

“Solid minerals suspected to be fluorite and iron stones were recovered from the trucks. The minerals were mined from some illegal mining sites in the Logo Local Government Area of Benue State,” EFCC noted.

The agency added that the suspects will be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.
