‘Ogun State A No-go Area’, Gov. Abiodun Warns Criminals

The Governor of Ogun State, Mr. Dapo Abiodun has warned criminals that the state is a ‘no-go area’ for their unscrupulous activities.

Mr. Abiodun encouraged the criminals to refrain from their distasteful acts, admonishing that ‘if you test our will, we will come after you, smoke you out, find you and neutralise you’.

“Last week, it was reported that over twenty people were kidnapped at Ilisan along the Sagamu-Benin Expressway. However, the police clarified that only four individuals; a Nigerian and three Indian nationals were involved. The @OgunPoliceNG used various creative and ingenious means to bring the kidnappers to justice, neutralising all of them in the process.

“We want to warn criminals that Ogun State is a no-go area. Our administration is just beginning its efforts, and this incident is a sample of what the State Police Command has in store for criminals.

“If you test our will, we will come after you, smoke you out, find you, and neutralise you. As the industrial capital of Nigeria, we take serious offence at any breach of peace and security, providing necessary support to our law enforcement agencies to maintain investor confidence and business ease,” he stated.

According to him, the recent โ€˜Governor of the Year in State Securityโ€™ award acknowledged his administrationโ€™s initiatives, investment, and support for security agencies.

He expressed encomium to the Commissioner of Police for his excellent work in motivating his men and collaborating with other law enforcement agencies, stressing that ‘our support for the police is showing positive results, and we are grateful for their hard work in ensuring the safety of our state.’

Governor Abiodun added: “We appreciate the men involved in the rescue operation for their bravery. We specifically requested that the Commissioner bring them so we could thank them and let them know the entire state is grateful for their efforts.”

He emphasised that his administration has discussed the need to repair the bad spots on the Sagamu-Ijebu Ode Motorway with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, saying that ‘the President has directed the Minister of Works to address these issues promptly.’
