Customs Strengthens Partnership with NSCDC, Correctional Service to Boost Security in Oyo

The Oyo/Osun Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has strengthened its partnership with sister security agencies, including the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) and the Nigerian Correctional Service, to enhance security within its area of responsibility.
The partnerships were reinforced when the Acting Customs Area Controller, Deputy Comptroller Wale Moses Adewole, paid courtesy visits to the NSCDC and the Correctional Service in Oyo.

According to a statement signed by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Assistant Superintendent of Customs I Abdulmalik Akintola, the engagements were aimed at fostering stronger institutional relationships and enhancing operational synergy among sister security agencies in the discharge of their statutory responsibilities.
During the visits, DC Adewole emphasised that effective national security management requires sustained cooperation, mutual support, and intelligence sharing among relevant government agencies.

He noted that the NCS remains committed to working closely with sister agencies to combat smuggling, secure national borders, and promote lawful trade.
The Acting CAC also stated that the visits were part of the Command’s broader strategy to consolidate existing partnerships and build stronger channels of communication for coordinated responses to security challenges within Oyo and Osun States.
On their part, the leadership of both agencies commended the initiative and expressed their readiness to sustain cordial working relationships with the Service in pursuit of shared national objectives.

The Command reiterated that inter-agency cooperation remains vital to achieving effective security administration and ensuring the protection of government interests and the public.
